"Dymondwood"™ is a name for a particular type or style of wood composite. Thin layers of veneer are dyed and pressed together, then cut on an angle to reveal the striped patterns you see.

The wood itself comes in a number of different color combinations. There aren't too many other woods that make a more substantial impression.
